Bangalee achieves everything through Language Movement: PM 694 DHAKA, Feb 22, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina today said the Bangalee nation had achieved everything including social, financial, cultural and political rights through the Language Movement. “Language Movement was not only the movement to establish the rights of language, rather it was a movement to achieve everything as the Bangalee nation,” she said. She said this while presiding over a discussion marking the Shaheed Dibas and International Mother Language Day organized by the AL at its central office at Bangabandhu Avenue, joining virtually from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.

Quader pleads for inclusion of Bangla as UN’s official language 311 File photo DHAKA, Feb 21, 2021 (BSS) – Seeking official recognition to Bangla language, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has made an appeal to the international community to include Bangla as an official language of the United Nations. “We urge the international community to use their good office to include Bangla as an official language of the United Nations side by side ensuring its use in higher education and apex court,” he said. The minister made this appeal while talking to journalists after placing wreaths on behalf of the Awami League at the central Shahid Minar (Martyred Monument) here marking Saheed Dibash and the International Mother Language Day in the small hours of Sunday.
