BNPâs politics over COVID-19 vaccines will go in vain: Hasan

COXâS BAZAR, Jan 15, 2021 (BSS) â Criticizing the politics of BNP, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said this party now wants to do politics over coronavirus vaccines, but their expectations wonât be fulfilled.
âBNP intended to make agitation over the pandemic situation⦠unfortunately they have failed and now they want to move with vaccines, but their efforts will go in vain,â he said while addressing as the chief guest the Bangabandu festival at Ramu here on Thursday night.
He said, âThe government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made all-out arrangements to bring necessary vaccines of the COVID-19 for the people.â
Dedicated leaders, activists must be evaluated in AL: Hasan

Cox’s Bazar, Jan 15, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the dedicated leaders and activists of Awami League have to be evaluated in the party.
“The dedicated leaders and workers, who endured torture and suffered a lot, but remained in the party with a stone tied to their chest for 21 years when Awami League was not in power, should be evaluated in the party,” he told a view-exchange meeting at AL’s Cox’s Bazar office here in the afternoon.
“The party will be well-organised at the grassroots level if the dedicated leaders and activists are evaluated,” he said.
Hasan pays tribute to journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said eminent journalist, writer and researcher Mizanur Rahman Khan will live forever through his research works on various issues, including constitution, law and human rights.
The minister made the comment before paying placing wreath on the coffin of journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the capital.
Later, Hasan took part in the Namaz-e-Janaza of Mizanur Rahman.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, JPC president Farida Yeasmin, former president Saiful Alam, general secretary Ilias Khan, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) president Mursalin Nomani, DRU general secretary and Mizanur’s younger brother Mashiur Rahman Khan, another younger brother Siddiqur Rahman, the daily Prothom Alo managing editor Sajjad Sharif and assistant editor Anisul Haque, among others, took part in the janaza.
BNP-Jamaat did nothing for driversâ welfare: Hasan

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP killed over one hundred drivers setting them on fire and throwing patrol bombs at buses and trucks in the name of movement in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
âBNP never did anything for the welfare of drivers rather they (BNP) killed them through arson and petrol bomb attacks in the name of movement in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Even they (BNP) burnt drivers when they were sleeping inside buses and trucks,â he said.
The minister made the comments while addressing a memorial meeting on former personal driver of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and vice-president of Bangladesh Awami Motor Chalok League late Md Shahjahan Mollah.
