HPD: 9-year-old boy shoots 7-year-old in the face
HOUSTON – Authorities are investigating after a 7-year-old boy was accidentally shot by a 9-year-old in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on 600 E. Anderson Road.
Police said the 7-year-old was accidentally shot in the face by another child after the boys found a loaded gun. The 7-year-old is expected to survive, police said.
Investigators originally said the two boys were brothers, but later said the boys just live in the same household and may be stepbrothers or cousins.
A 17-year-old was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of child endangerment, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm and possession for sales of concentrated cannabis and Psilocybin Mushrooms, the Oxnard Police Department said.

A man in Thailand was severely injured after he accidentally shot himself while cleaning a rifle at his home.
The police and medics arrived at an apartment in Muang district on Tuesday night and found the man, identified as 42-year-old Thammarat Kaewkomonman, lying in a pool of blood on the floor of his bedroom, with a gunshot wound on the left side of his chest and an exit hole in his back, media outlet Bangkok Post reported.
The officers found a rifle beside him. The magazine had a spent shell apart from four cartridges. The severely wounded man was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, the media outlet reported.
