Family of deceased guardians demand arrest of killers

PESHAWAR: A family whose three members were killed by their opponents here on Wednesday demanded arrest of the killers and exemplary punishment to them.
Addressing a press conference at Nowshera Press Club, Mahi Noor along with her mother and widow of her deceased brother, residents of Milli Khel district Nowshera said that nine accused have demanded extortion money and after refusal, they first killed her sister Shahida and then shot dead her two brothers Barakat and Anwar Shah besides injuring another brother Ali.
0She alleged that the opponents have now taken over her house by running a drug center after expelling them on gun point.
PM directs transparency in execution of 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed satisfaction over the progress on the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme and directed for ensuring complete transparency including actively engaging SUPARCO for satellite imagery in the execution of the Programme across the Country.
While chairing a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee on Climate Change in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Climate Change and directed to actively look into the possibility of net-zero emissions for Pakistan which may become possible with the enhancement of the carbon sequestration potential.
KP CM directs to complete arrangements for Balakot Hydropower Project groundbreaking
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan directed the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization to complete all the arrangements and preparations well in time to perform the groundbreaking of three hundred megawatt Balakot Hydropower Project by March this year.
Presiding over the Policy Board meeting of PEDO in Peshawar, he termed the project a very important project of energy sector in the province.
The meeting was informed that three hundred Megawatt Balakot Hydropower Project is a run-of-the-river project located on the river Kunhar. The total estimated cost of the project is seven hundred and fifty million dollar whereas the total cost of PC-1 approved by ECNEC is more than eighty five billion rupees.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has received an additional Rs3 billion from the federation this month in terms of net electricity profit, bringing the hydropower profit to Rs 11 billion this financial year.
The provincial government will negotiate with the federation to increase the installment.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and Finance Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra said that efforts of the provincial government towards net electricity profit have proved fruitful and the province has started getting regular installments in this regard.
He said, so far during the current financial year, Rs 11 billion has been received, including the January installment of Rs 3 billion.
