New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): There were mixed reactions to the Union Budget 2021-22 from Chief Ministers of different states with the CMs of BJP-ruled states praising it and CMs of non-BJP ruled states slamming it.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed the Union Budget 2021-22 as the budget of Self-Reliant India. All sections of the society have been taken care of in this Budget. I believe this is the Budget to turn the disaster into an opportunity during COVID pandemic, he told ANI.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also lauded the budget for strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat . Farmers have been provoked against agricultural laws. These agricultural laws are in the interest of farmers, he added.

Agartala, Jan 27: Tension prevailed in Agartala on Wednesday, as scores of terminated school teachers demonstrated outside Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb s official residence here, prompting the police to use tear gas and water cannons to disperse them.
Over 10,000 government school teachers were sacked last year, in accordance with a 2014 high court order, which said that their recruitment process was a faulty one. The Supreme Court later upheld the verdict.
Demanding a solution to the crisis, the teachers had been staging a sit-in over the last 52 days at Paradise Chowmuhani in the state capital.

Agartala, Jan 25 : With one more teacher breathing his last on Monday, the number of deaths due to numerous reasons rose to 84 as the indefinite sit-in by thousands of Tripura government school teachers, who had lost their jobs following court verdicts, entered its 50th day on Monday, even though the state government is yet to hold any talks with them.
According to the police, Ajit Sutradhar (55), one of the 10,323 retrenched government teachers, died on Monday following a massive cardiac arrest.
Braving the cold weather, men and women teachers continued their indefinite sit-in in Agartala since beginning the protest on December 7 last year, demanding restoration of their jobs.

Guwahati/Agartala, Jan 16 : The eight northeastern states joined the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive on Saturday with thousands of frontline health workers across hundreds of centres getting inoculated for the infection.
Chief Ministers and Health Ministers of northeastern states formally rolled out the vaccination programme in the state capitals whereas senior health officials especially of the National Health Mission (NHM) have been constantly monitoring the inoculation drive and registering the necessary data in the Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN) platform.
