Among Decorah s scores, it ranked highest nationally, at 88th, in math and reading proficiency and performance. The two categories sort high schools based on students scores on state academic tests, with the latter based in part on the performance of students from underserved communities.
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, took the nation s top ranking, followed by Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston, South Carolina, and The Davidson Academy of Nevada in Reno, Nevada.
Fifteen Iowa high schools ranked in the top 3,000 schools in the country down from 22 last year.

LONG BRANCH Long Branch High School has been named one of the best high schools in New Jersey, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Among those schools, Long Branch High School was ranked 231 in the state.

EAST BRUNSWICK East Brunswick High School has been named one of the best high schools in the United States, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Among those schools, East Brunswick High School was ranked 59 in New Jersey and 1,370nationally.

U.S. News and World Report released its annual of rankings of public high schools across the nation.
Wyomissing Junior/Senior High School earned the top spot in Berks, ranking 32nd in the state and 1,012th nationally.

Wilson High School was second in the county (51st statewide, 1,488th nationally), followed by Boyertown High School (94th statewide, 2,383rd nationally).
A total of 17,860 schools were ranked after a review of nearly 24,000 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The rankings were crafted from data from the 2018-19 school year.
