DON’T CALL IT ‘COMPLICATED’
Although the colonisation of Palestine seems black and white (and it is), many people will preface conversations about the crisis with a nod to how “complicated” of an issue it is. However, despite never seeming to offer an answer as to what exactly makes it “complicated”, they often succeed in shutting down conversations about it – particularly among those who are still educating themselves and learning how to talk about it.

Decolonize Palestine summaries that “appeals to complexity have been historically employed in an attempt to defend the indefensible”. Halston, the Netflix drama that follows the life and career of the late, legendary designer, is almost upon us, and we’ve been looking forward to our virtual trip to Studio 54 since the high-octane trailer dropped last week. Some, however, aren’t so excited for the upcoming series, including Halston’s family.
Starring Ewan McGregor as the titular fashion icon,
Halston will chart his rise to fame in the New York of the 1970s and 80s, where he dressed everyone from Andy Warhol to Jackie Kennedy. It will also revolve around his fight for the rights to his own name, though plenty of time is devoted to hedonistic partying in between tense business meetings, if the initial clips are anything to go by.

30 Rock, a 28-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after being caught posing as a high school student in order to gain more followers on the Gram.
On Monday (May 10), Audrey Francisquini allegedly snuck into a school in Miami-Dade County with a backpack, a painting under one arm and a skateboard under the other.
According to police, she began distributing fliers with her social media handle to students, before she was stopped by school security. After telling them that she was looking for the registration office, Francisquini continued to prowl the halls with flyers. She was stopped again, but fled the scene before they could get hold of her.

Almost 20 years after she first stepped onto the set of
The Simple Life – all Von Dutch mini skirts, flip phones, and ‘what’s a laundromat?’ – Paris Hilton is making a return to reality television with a new series tentatively titled
Paris in Love. The unscripted docuseries will follow the showbiz mogul over the course of 13 episodes as she preps for her upcoming nuptials to the “man of her dreams,” venture capitalist Carter Reum.
According to the show’s synopsis, cameras will accompany Hilton “bridal dress shopping and choosing the venue to designing her dream destination wedding and participating in what certainly will be a fun and crazy bachelorette party”. Culminating on the big day, the show promises to reveal “a personal side of Paris that only her closest friends and family get to see”.
