North Carolina Agents Launch Distracted Driving Campaign April 7, 2021 The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) have launched a campaign designed to inform and educate the driving public, especially parents and young drivers, about the peril of distracted driving, which according to the association, causes one in five of every car crash on the state’s roads each year. To coincide with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Distracted Driving Awareness Month, IIANC will be working with independent insurance agents across the state to bring awareness to the peril of driving distracted throughout the month of April. IIANC it will focus on educating about distracted driving in all its forms, such as holding a phone while behind the wheel, grooming, horseplay with passengers, or even being overly tired when driving.
