NEWARK Two months after Steve Layman announced plans for the first new housing subdivision in Newark in 15 years, he presented another one to the Newark Planning Commission.
Layman, a developer and commercial real estate agent with Shai Commercial Real Estate, presented plans Tuesday night for a 66-lot residential subdivision called The Overlook on 41 acres just south of Reddington Village, west of Cherry Valley Road and the Evans Foundation Bike Path and east of Thornwood Drive.
In March, Layman showed the planning commission a proposed 113-home development on 55 acres west of Horns Hill Road, between Wildflower and Randy drives in the city s north end.

WORTHINGTON Late June or early July is the latest estimate on when Worthington’s new movie theater will open, the theater’s operator told the Worthington City Council Monday night. Todd Frager spoke with council members via phone and shared an update on theater progress.
The council approved a construction contract and operator’s lease for the theater building back in July 2019, and at the time it was estimated completion would be by April 15, 2020.
“This will be the last summer that Worthington doesn’t have movies playing in its town,” Frager said at the July 2019 meeting.

The Dickinson City Commission met this week and approved the first readings of an ordinance amendment that set the Historic Preservation Commission to seven members instead of five and two planned unit developments on Patterson Lake. Planning Staff Recommends Denial For Development In Section Of Holly Hills Hit By Tornado Thursday, May 6, 2021
The staff of the Regional Planning Agency is recommending denial for rezoning for a development on 15.8 acres at a section of Holly Hills that was hit by a tornado last year.
Paces Ferry Builders is planning 36 townhomes and 43 single-family homes.
There would be 4.6 acres of open space.
The location is the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Jenkins Road and the 7900 block of Holly Hills Drive.
The property is owned by Paces Ferry Builders, DKB College Fund, Stephan Hermann, Jeffery Armor, Yelena Lyashevskiy, Jeffery Walker, Ralph Kinnane, Michael Montieth and Overwatch Construction.
