LAFAYETTE, Ind. Five Hoosiers were reported lost to COVID-19 Saturday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health, while the death toll in Tippecanoe County remained at 212 for another day.
The seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals the percentage of people who test positive, regardless of how many times a single person has been tested dripped down to 13.8%, after inching up to 14% Friday.
The overall positivity rate, which had been at 4.5% since Tuesday and ticked up to 4.6% Friday, increased slightly to 4.7%. The county processed 165 new tests the previous day, for a total of 111,969 tests since the pandemic started.
The county reported 40 new positive cases, bringing that total to 21,765.

As News 18 previously reported, the Tippecanoe County Health Department recently hosted a drive-thru clinic. IU Health Arnett and the Clinton County Health Department are also hosting pop-up clinics this weekend.
CCHD Administrator Rodney Wann says the pop-up clinic will accept walk-in appointments in an effort to combat decreasing demand.

The Indiana State Department of Health and the Tippecanoe County health Department are following the FDA and CDC s recommendations, and are also pausing use of the J&J vaccine.
