WAILUKU Bail was set at $50,000 for a 35-year-old man who is facing charges alleging he threatened employees at a business near Kahului Airport.
Morgan Simmons, 35, was arrested Tuesday and charged with four counts of first-degree terroristic threatening.
He allegedly threatened to kill four people multiple times in phone calls March 9, Deputy Prosecutor Lewis Littlepage said during an initial appearance for Simmons on Thursday in Wailuku District Court.
Simmons appeared by videoconference from the Maui Police Department for the hearing.
He asked to be released on supervision. Deputy Public Defender Gustavo Gonzalez said Simmons was arrested when he returned from Portland, Ore., where he went to see Veterans Administration doctors to address mental health and medical issues.
