Memorial Day 2021: All about the holiday weekend Daniella Genovese
Memorial Day, an American holiday dedicated to honoring the men and women who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. military, is fast approaching.
The holiday – observed each year on the last Monday in May – marks a three-day weekend for most Americans, and many consider it the unofficial start to summer.
It was first known as Decoration Day and established on May 5, 1868, three years after the Civil War ended, according to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
It was celebrated on May 30 and Americans would decorate the graves of fallen soldiers from the Civil War with flowers.

As revealed last week, the government will pour around half a billion dollars into myGov and the My Health Record system, as well as $54 million into a national AI centre, as part of a combined $1.2 billion package.

Tuesday’s hearing was much shorter than Thursday’s is likely to be, and Neumer mostly stuck to the methodology behind his investigation into the outbreak, which ended with more than a quarter of the LaSalle home’s population dead after testing positive for COVID.
