FC Tulsa Looks To Educate Its Organization, Community Through Donation To Greenwood Rising Tulsa’s soccer club is looking to help educate both its own organization and the community about the history of Greenwood and the Tulsa Race Massacre. FC Tulsa took its office staff through a tour of the Greenwood District, led by the president of the African Ancestral Society Chief Egunwale Amusan, and then made a donation of $25,000 to the Greenwood Rising project. Greenwood Rising is a brand-new history center being built in the heart of the Greenwood District in downtown. “Our first goal was to make sure our staff was truly educated about the horrific events surrounding the burning of Black Wall Street a century ago. Now, we want to do our part as a pillar of the Tulsa community to make sure we close that education gap in others with our donation,” FC Tulsa President James Cannon said.
