National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi (NIT-T) has retained its top rank among NITs and all government institutions in the country in implementation of TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) III in the third consecutive cycle.
In the performance audit by N.C. Shivaprakash, Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, NIT-T scored 1.03 on a scale of 3.0 in the TEQIP-III implemented during 2018-21, with ₹ 7.7 crore funding and was chosen as mentor institute for Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Pahargaon, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Under twinning arrangement, NIT-T has been supporting DBRAIT in preparation of self-assessment report to secure positive rating from National Board of Accreditation, procurement of goods, and enabling faculty members to pursue higher studies (M.S. and Ph.D.) at NIT-T. Students of DBRAIT also share the NIT-T laboratory facilities and undergo training at the Siemens

CM Uddhav Thackeray s office has taken a serious view of this inconvenience caused to the Governor. The CMO said that Raj Bhavan was informed on Wednesday evening that they have not been updated regarding the permission for Governor to travel. The CMO further held the authorities at the Raj Bhavan responsible for not informing the Governor and not taking adequate measures for his travel.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is keen to fix responsibility on the official who didn t pass on the information to the Governor.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari was scheduled to travel by a state government aircraft to Dehradun in Uttarakhand on Thursday, but the permission to use the plane was not granted even as the Governor had boarded the aircraft, sources said.
The Governor later took a commercial flight to travel to Dehradun, a statement from the Raj Bhavan said.
This comes amid uneasy ties between the state’s Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress coalition government and the governor, with both the sides have being critical of each other in the past.
The Raj Bhavan statement said the Governor’s Secretariat had written to the government authorities seeking permission for the use of aircraft “well in advance” on February 2.

Koshyariwas scheduled to travel by a state government aircraft to Dehradun and on getting on-board, the governor was informed that permission for use of the plane had not been received, a statement from the Raj Bhavan said. The governor later took a commercial flight from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to travel to the capital of his home state of Uttarakhand, it said.
