Covid-19: Second Mattina crew member transferred to Southland Hospital

The Captain, who has tested negative, is quarantining in Southern DHB-arranged accommodation in Southland. On Friday, Invercargill Central Ltd Chairman Scott O’Donnell said that a container full of elevators and escalators for Invercargill’s CBD developments were stuck on the Mattina. He had not been made aware of when the container would be able to be unloaded. O’Donnell was optimistic that the hold-up would not impact CBD developments, as the escalators and elevators were not needed for another six weeks. “Our biggest concern is that it won’t be unloaded and the boat will be sent away,” he said.

Rakiura Stewart Island s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic A Huge Success

Friday, 30 July 2021, 1:43 pm More than 80 percent of Rakiura Stewart Island’s eligible residents have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine after 257 people were vaccinated at a successful two-day clinic there this week. “We’re thrilled that so many people embraced this opportunity to get vaccinated in their own community and we got a lot of positive feedback that residents were very pleased we came to them,” clinic lead Nadine Goldsmith, of Awarua Whānau Services, said today (30 July). A further 52 people from Rakiura Stewart Island’s 385 eligible population had already received their vaccination elsewhere, according to COVID-19 immunisation records.

The pair arrived in the country on July 14 from the United Arab Emirates and were in a bubble together. Health officials say they were a contact of a case. The remaining three travellers tested positive on day three routine tests. One person arrived from the United Kingdom on July 23, a second arrived on July 24 from Fiji and the third s full travel history was still to be determined.
