Over 200,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Windsor-Essex
Overall, 55.5 per cent of adults in Windsor-Essex in southwestern Ontario have been given one dose or more since the vaccine rollout began in December.

A Wallaceburg woman facing three counts of attempted murder in connection to a March stabbing will have to wait another week to find out how the matter will proceed in court.
Mary Smith, 33, appeared briefly in a Chatham courtroom Friday via teleconference.

The court heard from her lawyer, Greg McGivern, that a pre-trial was held last week. He requested the matter be adjourned to May 14 for him to receive instructions from his client.

Close to 49 per cent of all adults in Windsor-Essex have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the region s medical officer of health said Friday. But he warned people to keep practising safety guidelines as Mother s Day approaches.

A judicial pre-trial has been scheduled for the Wallaceburg woman facing three counts of attempted murder in connection to a March stabbing.

Her lawyer, Greg McGivern, told the court a judicial pre-trial is now scheduled for Wednesday and requested the case return to court next Friday for instructions following that pre-trial.
The variants are also connected to six of the active outbreaks in Windsor-Essex.
18 people in hospital
Since the COVID-19 vaccine rollout began, there have been 158,442 shots administered in Windsor-Essex and 144,746 people have received at least one dose.
Of the 49 new COVID-19 cases announced Wednesday, 23 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, six were community acquired, two cases are outbreak related and 18 are under investigation.
There are 13 workplace outbreaks, including:
Three in Leamington s agriculture sector.
One in Windsor s construction sector.
One in Tecumseh s construction sector.
One in Lakeshore s food and beverage sector.
One in Windsor s food and beverage sector.
Three in Windsor s health care and social assistance sector.
