Moderna vaccine coming to 14 Windsor-Essex pharmacies
The region is one of several participating in a provincial pilot that will see 14 local pharmacies in hot-spot postal codes receive a supply of the COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna.

The medical officer of health for Windsor-Essex is urging people to ask their doctors questions about COVID-19 vaccines instead of “falling into the trap” of misinformation on social media.
In an effort to bolster confidence in the shots approved by Health Canada and being administered locally by the thousands each week, Dr. Wajid Ahmed on Wednesday shared evidence of the jab’s efficacy.

With more than 82 per cent of area residents age 60 and older inoculated with at least one dose, and those living in long-term care and retirement homes fully immunized, “we are not seeing cases in that age group,” Ahmed said.
Windsor-Essex reports 28 new COVID-19 cases â lowest number since late March
There were 28 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex in southwestern Ontario on Tuesday, the lowest daily increase since the end of March â although the medical officer of health says there needs to be a pattern of fewer cases before loosening restrictions is considered.

Adult residents of seven select Windsor-Essex postal codes as well as anyone age 50 and older can now book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
Starting Monday, anyone age 18 and up living in a neighbourhood identified as a “hot spot” for the virus is eligible for the Pfizer jab at a mass vaccination site. The local chosen postal codes are N8X, N8Y, N9A, N9B, N9C, N8H, and N9Y. Those born in 1971 and earlier can book an appointment regardless of where they live.
