HYDERABAD: Milk and mutton sales might have taken a hit, but whiskey bottles continued to fly off the shelves of Telangana’s liquor stores all through May this year, the 20-day lockdown notwithstanding.
A quick look at the month’s sales figures show that despite limited access stores were open only during the odd 6 am to 10 am period guzzlers remained in high spirits, with the sector ringing in revenues worth Rs 2,129 crore during this period. This is only 6% lower than Telangana’s May 2020 sales of Rs 2,270 crore, when liquor shops reopened after 44 days of lockdown.

Thotakura Swapna from Gayatri Nagar, Warangal was selected as a constable in 2014. After completing her duties in the Warangal women’s police station, she looks after the cattle at her home. Apart from doing all the work related to the cows, she even packs the milk in packets and delivers them to every home with the help of her husband Suresh.

TRS Working President KTR has given a fitting response to the open letter written by BJP State President Bandi Sanjay on ITIR. KTR said that the BJP should apologize to the people of Telangana for its failure to get ITIR to Hyderabad. He stated that the BJP State president Bandi Sanjay is unaware of the fact that Union IT and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad s statement in the Parliament that the ITIR scheme has been shelved in the country and this shows his ignorance.
KTR told that ITIR has not gone ahead even in Bengaluru though it s the same party that runs the government in the centre and Karnataka. “Apart from Hyderabad, the ITIR project was sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, and Karnataka but has not seen any development in any of these states.
