AUBURN â The DeKalb County Health Department on Wednesday reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in DeKalb County residents.
The county has reported 138 cases in the first 26 days of May, an average of 5.3 per day. New cases have been in single digits each day since a report of 12 cases on May 7.
Wednesdayâs new patients include one between birth and age 10; three between ages 31-40; two in the 51-60 age bracket; and two from 61-70 years old.
The youngest of Wednesdayâs patients is 2 years old, DeKalb County Health Officer Dr. Mark Souder said.
The new patients bring the total to 4,387 DeKalb County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the first local case was reported March 24, 2020.

Wednesday new patients include one each in the 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 and 51-60 age groups.
The new patients bring the total to 4,325 DeKalb County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the first local case was reported March 24, 2020.
