Due to overwhelming demand and presales for Amanda Gorman s books, Penguin Random House announced Thursday a first printing of one million copies for each of Gorman’s three upcoming books: The Hill We Climb: An Inaugural Poem for the Country, Change Sings and The Hill We Climb and Other Poems.
A Harvard graduate, National Youth Poet Laureate and the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history, Gorman s The Hill We Climb a collectible, jacketed hardcover gift edition of Amanda’s presidential inaugural poem with a foreword by Oprah Winfrey will be published on March 16. That date was moved up from an April release.
Gorman s poem will highlight three individuals the NFL will honor as honorary captains at the Super Bowl who served as leaders in their respective communities during the global pandemic.
The recitation will air nationally and be featured at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The three honorary captains educator Trimaine Davis, nurse manager Suzie Dorner and veteran James Martin will then participate in the on-field coin toss ceremony. We are honored to recognize these three individuals who represent the best in all of us, Goodell said in a statement.
