PM Imran Khan convenes Prime Minister Imran Khan convened a meeting of the political committee Monday afternoon, with federal ministers Pervez Khattak, Shafqat Mahmood, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry expected to attend, sources said.
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, too, will attend the meeting as a member of the committee, the sources said.

Issues related to law and order, religious affairs and Jahangir Tareen will be considered, the sources said, adding that measures to control inflation will also be discussed.

Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif may be named adviser to CM

NOWSHERA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet is likely to undergo changes in the near future, sources said.
The sources privy to the development told The News that a former senator from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, who has joined the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is likely to be named the adviser on information to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
It was learnt that the chief minister has consulted Prime Minister Imran Khan for giving this responsibility to Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif as he wants him to highlight the reforms being undertaken by the KP government in various sectors.

Pakistan has instructed all prayer leaders to pray for forgiveness after Jummah prayers as the country continues to battle the third wave of the coronavirus.
“
Tauba o astaghfar ke zariye corona se nijaat [seeking Allah’s forgiveness to rid the world of the coronavirus pandemic]” is being observed by the country today (Friday).
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said, in a notification dated April 12, that the day will be observed on the first Friday of Ramazan 2021.

DHAKA: Rohingya refugees have welcomed the beginning of the month of Ramadan with a sense of solitude and isolation on Bhashan Char island, where thousands were been moved by Bangladeshi authorities from the overcrowded camps of Cox’s Bazar.
Over 18,500 Rohingya Muslims have been relocated to the remote island in the Bay of Bengal since December last year, despite criticism from rights groups and the UN Refugee Agency over the site’s vulnerability to severe weather and flooding.
