NRAP drops plan to hire Serbian coach

KARACHI: National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) has dropped the programme of inviting a renowned Serbian coach for training of the shooters who have qualified for Tokyo Olympics.
“Nobody is willing to travel to Pakistan due to the covid-19 situation all over the world,” said Executive vice president of NRAP Javaid S Lodhi while talking to ‘The News’. “We had to drop this idea and now we will arrange training camps for them in the country with local resources,” he added.
Javaid said they had arranged a three-week training camp recently and the results were very encouraging so another camp would be arranged after Ramadan.
Chand fails to grab Olympics quota place

KARACHI: Pakistanâs top shooter Usman Chand has lost all chances to win a quota place for Tokyo Olympics despite a huge rise in his international ranking.
Usman was hoping to win a quota place for the Olympics on the basis of his international rankings he achieved after participating in the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in New Delhi recently.
After a good show in the first round of skeet event in New Delhi, he faltered in the second and finished 14th. He jumped from the previous 108th position to the 40th spot but this did not help him win a quota place.

New Delhi, March 11 : Pakistan s lone skeet shooter Usman Chand has got a visa to travel to India and will, after all, compete in the New Delhi World Cup this month, Razi Ahmed Khan, secretary general of the National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP), said on Thursday. We received the visa from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Thursday. It s good that Chand will get a chance to compete with the top shooters from across the globe. We hope he is able to shoot a good score in India, Khan told IANS from Lahore.
