NORWOOD â The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood is pleased to announce Hailee Duvall as the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for April 2021. She is a student in the Health Careers Program. She is from the Canton Central School District and is the daughter of Heather Perkins and James Duvall.
Health Careers is a two-year program that provides students with the foundation needed to pursue a career in the health care field. Basic entry level skills are learned through theory and also in the lab setting for a variety of health occupations. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the lab when attending supervised clinical in a long-term care setting. Hailee has spent her junior and senior year learning about work ethic, body structure and function, health and wellness, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, how to measure vital signs along with spending time in the lab practicing the skills necessary to provide patient care in t

Blaine Havens is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s February Student of the Month. Blaine is a senior from Beaver Local High School and is enrolled in the Precision Machining and Manufacturing (PMM) Program under the instruction of Mr. Matt Peters. Blaine has taken College Credit Plus (CCP) classes since 2018 and is a current member of the Youngstown State Honors College earning the Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship. Upon graduation, Blaine will have earned 38 college credits toward a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Blaine is a member of SkillsUSA, Beaver Local National Honor Society (NHS), CCCTC chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), and is a member of the Beaver Local swim team. SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio No one in this world makes it very far on their own. Having been a mother, and having had a very attentive mother (one who also knew when to step back), I know that I am just a sample of one.
But interdependence in all things is key to understanding how much we need others in our lives and how much they need us. A friend of mine, a minister, once observed at Notre Dame College, on the lawn on a hot day, how my son Andrew would run and enjoy freedom, but he would periodically turn his head to make sure I was still there and still attentive to him. Andy was about 5 then, and I thought the minister’s observation was astute.

During the 93rd Missouri FFA Convention, Caitlyn Kleffner was named the 2021-2022 State FFA Vice President. Kleffner is a member of the Rolla FFA Chapter. Her parents are Larry Kleffner and Christy Green of Rolla. Her advisors are Cord Jenkins and Randy Stockstill.
Kleffner’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of owning Katahdin hair sheep, crossbred Amerifax cattle and a flock of brown egg-laying hens. In addition, she works in her family’s vegetable greenhouse.
During high school, Kleffner has served as chapter president, reporter, assistant secretary and area president.
Kleffner participated in FFA creed speaking, Division II prepared public speaking, and advanced prepared public speaking leadership development events; poultry and grasslands evaluation career development events. She placed first individually at state in the grasslands evaluation CDE. Kleffner won the area sheep production proficiency award. She was named A

New AU physician assistant studies program earns provisional accreditation
ASHLAND - Ashland University’s new physician assistant studies program passed a significant milestone en route to its fall 2021 debut with news the program has been granted provisional accreditation status by the commission that oversees PA education in the United States.
The first cohort of 24 students will begin the program this fall, attending classes during the first 12 months of the program and clinical rotations the second 12 months in order to earn a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
Applications for the 30 seats available in the 2022 cohort opened April 29. Going forward, cohorts of 36 students will be admitted. A complete list of the 2021-22 PA program admission requirements can be found at ashland.edu.
