The Cape Cod Virtual Hackathon/Inventathon sponsored by the Mashpee Public Schools National Technical Honor Society will take place on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1. It is open to students on Cape Cod.
âWe participate on the athletic fields all the time, but very rarely do we participate in the academic setting outside of our individual high schools,â said event coordinator and Mashpee Middle-High School teacher Amanda Hough. âI want to open kidsâ eyes to what a hackathon is. Itâs not just computer programming; itâs problem-solving. Kids on Cape Cod donât get those opportunities very often.â
According to Ms. Hough, the hackathon is about collaborating with other students on technology work, software-related challenges and also coming up with innovations.
