Kikilias went on to stress that the government’s Covid-19 committee would be
monitoring the situation with particular emphasis on popular tourist destinations and assessing on a
day-to-day basis the need for additional actions and measures.
“We will support our economy, we will support tourism, and in order to do that, public health rules must apply. People from abroad
trust our country, invest in our country, and decide to travel to Greece. We will ensure that this is done safely, that it is done in an organized manner, that people can be happy, that they can go on vacation, and that Greeks can do the same,” he said.

ATHENS - Greece confirmed 2,435 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 5 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Thursday.
Greece has registered 342,908 infections from the start of the pandemic (daily change: +0.7 pct). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 49 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,478 to other confirmed cases.

ATHENS Greece registered 2,781 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 2 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Wednesday.
Greece has confirmed 340,493 infections from the start of the pandemic (daily change: +0.8 pct). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 54 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,455 to other confirmed cases.
There are also 63 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 10,242. Of these, 95.4 pct had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.
A total of 805 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 68 years and 85.3 pct have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more. Another 2,087 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

Health-care workers and patients were an important focus of WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge’s visit to Greece last week. During the second day of his visit, Dr Kluge spoke directly with health-care professionals and individuals at the accommodation site for refugees and migrants in Eleonas and the mega-vaccination centre Prometheus in Maroussi, northern Athens.
Leaving no one behind
Arriving at the Eleonas refugee and migrant camp, Dr Kluge was welcomed by Greek Minister of Health Dr Vassilis Kikilias as well as President of the National Public Health Organization (EODY) Mr Panagiotis Arkoumaneas.
