Lim said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is eyeing to complete the negotiation for road right-of-way and site acquisition for the entire TDD segment by the third quarter of this year but added that partial construction is targeted to commence by the second quarter.
“The DOTr, along with the concerned government units, is currently in the process of acquiring (road) right-of-way for the alignment as well as the terminals and stations of this project,” she said.
The TDD segment will have eight stations – Tagum; Carmen; Panabo; Mudiang in Bunawan, Davao City; Davao Terminal; Toril; Sta. Cruz; and Digos.

DAVAO CITY – National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)-Davao Director Maria Lourdes Lim said the unsolicited proposal of Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. to modernize the Davao International Airport (DIA) is currently being considered and evaluated by the technical board of the Investment Coordination Committee (ICC).

She said the proposed project, which will cost the firm of the Davao-based tycoon Dennis Uy at least P48.97 billion, is intended to expand and upgrade facilities in the DIA through a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
Uy’s firm had submitted an unsolicited proposal for the multi-billion Davao International Airport Development Project on May 28, 2018 and had been granted by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) with “original proponent status” for the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the airport.

In a statement, the US Embassy said through the new US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA agreement, the Philippines and US “deepen their commitment to protect the environment by promoting sustainable use of natural resources, expanding access to renewable energy and reducing risks from natural disasters.” In partnership with local government units, USAID will implement projects to increase access to clean energy and water; improve natural resource management; and protect the Philippines’ landscapes, wildlife, and fisheries.
