SA's youngsters party themselves to death, instead of adhere to Covid rules

Picture: iStock It’s a party now, die later mood as South Africans hit nightclubs under adjusted alert level 3 lockdown and throw health caution to the wind, ignoring rules on maskwearing and social distancing as they boogie the night away. This was highlighted in a video shared on Twitter this week by DJ Tira which showed a large, maskless crowd dancing and shouting as the DJ – real name Mthokozisi Khathi – performed at The Cosmopolitan Lounge in Maboneng, Johannesburg. Tira had previously announced that patrons would require a Covid vaccination card to gain entry to the Fact Durban Rocks December 2021... Liquor industry disappointed by alcohol ban

Monday 12 July 2021 - 6:24am There's been a mixed reaction to the president extending Level 4 lockdown. Jane Dutton spoke to alcohol industry representative Lucky Ntimane. Courtesy #DStv403 JOHANNESBURG - The liquor industry has expressed dissatisfaction with President Cyril Ramaphosa's decision to extend Level 4 of lockdown as alcohol sales have been prohibited for another 14 days. The National Liquor Traders Council said the government is clearly ignoring its pleas.   "As the tavern sector, we are disappointed by the announcement by the president that does not allow us to pick up the pieces to continue to support our families, even though we are aggrieved by this we have heard the president," said Lucky Ntimane from the National Liquor Traders' Council.
