11 hrs ago CONCORD — The New Hampshire Community Behavioral Health Association (CBHA), comprised of the ten community mental health centers (CMHCs) in NH, is hosting many virtual events and supports during national Mental Health Awareness Month throughout the month of May. CBHA and the CMHCs are highlighting a wide variety of mental and behavioral health topics throughout these events, which offers something that will interest all age groups and interests. This year more than ever, the need for awareness around mental health supports is all the more critical after more than a year of COVID-19. In order to help support the greater Granite State community, CBHA is always striving to reduce the stigma around mental healthcare, as well as educating where and how to seek supports. All ten CMHCs have worked tirelessly to provide care throughout the pandemic and continue to do so.

Randolph Resident Highlights Importance of Conversations on Gun Violence at Council Meeting , Freedom Festival is On

May 7, 2021 at 1:54 PM RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Township Mayor and Council held a Regular Meeting on May 6 during which the importance of gun violence awareness was addressed, announcements about the township’s Fourth of July Freedom Festival were made and plans and funds for various town wide projects were delineated.  Mayor Mark Forstenhausler commenced the meeting by honoring May 6th as National Nurses Day and sharing a message of gratitude for all Randolph nurses.  The meeting then proceeded into a Public Comments session. The first member of the public to address the council was Leslie Moran who thanked Mayor Forstenhausler for responding to her communications about a Gun Violence Awareness Day Proclamation. Moran emphasized the nonpartisan nature of the proclamation and attributed its inspiration to a number of recent gun violence–related deaths.

KEWEENAW COUNTY This past weekend, Sheriff deputies responded to a young person who had driven a vehicle into a stand of trees in an unidentified location at nearly 100 miles per hour, according to a post on the Sheriff’s Office social media page. The post stated the cause of the crash was that the young person had decided to commit suicide.
