NDO/VNA - Vietnam has exerted sound control over the latest outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, particularly at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (Hospital K), Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen affirmed at a May 12 online working session with the two medical facilities, which have been hotspots during this outbreak.

Vietnam records 16 more local coronavirus cases

Vietnam confirmed 16 more Covid-19 community transmission cases Tuesday noon in northern and central localities.
Ten of the cases were recorded in Bac Giang, two in Hanoi, two in Quang Tri, one in Bac Ninh and one in Hai Duong. All the cases were recorded in locked-down zones.
In Hanoi, two men aged 31 and 68 were associated with the capital s K Hospital, which has been locked down after it was revealed to be a coronavirus hotspot. They are now treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, another locked down hospital.

So far, the country counted 1,433 imported cases and 2,056 domestic infections – 486 of which have been found since the fourth coronavirus hit the country on April 27. A total of 211,016 samples have also been collected for COVID-19 testing since then, the ministry said.
