NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court administration has agreed in-principle to a proposal of bar body SCBA for setting up of a temporary in-patient Covid-19 facility in the new chamber building for lawyers here. Earlier, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) led by president and senior advocate Vikas Singh had submitted a representation to Chief Justice N V Ramana that the new chamber building, meant for lawyers, of the top court at Pragati Maidan here be considered for opening as the Covid care centre. Granting in-principle concurrence, the top court administration made clear that the staff of Supreme Court Registry will not be associated with the proposed facility and it is for the government of National Capital Territory of Delhi to decide as to how to operate the facility .

New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday gave formal clearance to a special Covid care centre at the new additional building complex in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had earlier written to the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana to convert the new advocates chamber building into a Covid-19 care centre for lawyers, court staff, and their families.
In its press release, the apex court said that its administration has conveyed its in-principle concurrence to the initiative of the SCBA for setting up of temporary in-patient facility for Covid-19 patients in the Supreme Court Complex.

The Union Home Ministry on Thursday said that recently enacted Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act 2021 (GNCTD) would in no way alter the constitutional and legal responsibilities of the elected government to take necessary action on subjects that had been transferred to it including health, education, etc.
NEW DELHI: A day after the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2021, came into force, Delhi LG Anil Baijal issued an order specifying the matters in which the LG’s opinion must be obtained before taking any executive action based on decision of the Council of Ministers of a minister, to exercise the powers of government, state government, appropriate government, LG, administrator or chief commissioner under any law in force in the Capital.
These matters, as per the order issued on Wednesday and notified a day later, including those falling under any law made by Parliament or extended to the NCT of Delhi by the Central government regarding any matter enumerated in the State List of Concurrent List of the Constitution.
