WARREN To make sure local residents have mittens, scarves gloves and hats this winter, members of the Warren Junior Women’s League GFWC Ohio spent Sunday placing bags with those items on the fence in front of Warren City Hall.
It looks like Ohio held back a little bit of white from Christmas for Monday.
The Christmas eve-day winter storm and frigid temperatures will affect the area through this morning. Then it looks like we’ll warm up, cool down again and have more snow as the next work week begins, unless you can stay home.
Northeast Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania by today are looking at snowfall totals of 8 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts possible in Mercer and Lawrence counties.
The National Weather Service in Cleveland reported advisories are in effect for areas generally along Interstate 71 for 4 to 7 inches of snow. Wind chills will be in the single digits to near zero this morning.
