Repository staff report CANTON – People   especially children, older adults or those with respiratory disease   are advised to limit outdoor exertion today and, potentially, in the coming days. Canton City Health Commissioner James Adams issued a health advisory Tuesday afternoon for Stark County because of increased amounts of fine particulate matter in the air. The elevated levels appear to be caused by smoke from wildfires in the western U.S., according to a Canton City Public Health news release. Fine particle pollution is expected to remain in the air for the next few days, according to the release. The National Weather Service in Cleveland reported local visibility this afternoon of three to six miles because of atmospheric smoke around Cleveland and Interstate 77 to the east. Local conditions were partly cloudy with haze.
