Cincinnati weather: Fog Tuesday, then warm up and storms coming this week

Drive careful, Greater Cincinnati. Fog will stick around through Tuesday afternoon.  Forecasters with the National Weather Service said fog could stick around through 1 p.m. Dense fog will reduce visibilities to less than a half-mile in some locations. Drivers are advised to use extra caution when encountering the lowered visibilities. Conditions are expected to improve by early afternoon as temperatures and winds increase, forecasters said.  After a chilly Monday, temperatures will be on the rise this week.  Highs on Tuesday won t crack 60, but they will on Wednesday, which will be sunny with a high near 67.  Don t get used to it because we ll have another chance of rain and storms this week. Showers and thunderstorms are expected during the daytime on Thursday. Rain will start overnight on Wednesday.

Update, 7:18 p.m.: Rain showers and thunderstorms have arrived in parts of Greater Cincinnati.  Showers and thunderstorms were forecast throughout the region Thursday night and into the early morning hours Friday, with some storms containing strong winds, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.  Forecaster say precipitation ranging from a half to three quarters of an inch is possible.

Multiple assets from their Emergency Response Unit, including a helicopter, are on the scene. Multiple agencies responded to search the area near Lawrenceburg, Ind. near the Ohio River. “This is a multi-agency effort working together as one,” Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said in a release. Recovering a body from a river is “difficult” under ideal conditions, but when the water level is elevated and the current is swift, the search becomes more dangerous and lowers the odds of a recovery.

The search for James Hutchinson: ‘Uncontrollable elements’ add difficulty in recovery from Ohio River Rick McCrabb Recovering a body from a river is “difficult” under idea conditions, but when the water level is elevated and the current is swift, the search becomes more dangerous and lowers the odds of a recovery. “A needle in a haystack” is how Capt. Rick Bucheit from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office described a river recovery. “There are so many variables. When you consider all of them, you realize how difficult it can be.” Bucheit said those searching for the body of a 6-year-old Middletown boy, who allegedly was thrown into the Ohio River near Lawrenceburg, Ind., by his mother and her boyfriend, are dealing with increased water speeds that are carrying large amounts of debris.
