International space station will be viewable in central Ohio this month

The International Space Station will be viewable briefly tonight and into the early morning, with more opportunities throughout the remainder of July  but only if cloud cover cooperates. A line of showers and storms moving into northwest Ohio later today will push clouds into central Ohio said John Franks, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington. There is a 50% chance of cloud cover forecast for the station s first six-minute pass at 11:08 p.m. The station, appearing to the naked eye as a bright moving star, will pass about 10 degrees above the horizon in the northwest sky. Heavier cloud cover likely will obstruct viewing at the same position in the sky at the following times, Franks said: 1:35 a.m (two minutes)., 3:11 a.m (five minutes), 4:47 a.m.(seven minutes).
