Today will start out mostly cloudy but comfortable before rain and thunderstorms begin in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. The storms will likely start later in the afternoon, then continue after dark. Heavy rain is possible Wednesday night, and the NWS said that damaging wind gusts and hail could be possible. Rain could be heavy at times, meaning isolated flooding is possible.
