Damaging winds and large hail : Severe thunderstorms in the forecast for late Monday Quinlan Bentley and Sarah Brookbank, Cincinnati Enquirer Severe thunderstorms are forecast throughout Greater Cincinnati starting late Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.  Forecasters said strong to severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds and large hail, are possible throughout the region starting late Monday and into Tuesday.  A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for counties in Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana.  Rain will stick around Greater Cincinnati for most of the day, then we will have a break in the evening. Forecasters said stronger storms will arrive after midnight.

Several rounds of rain punctuated by thunder, downpours and wind gusts will push across central Ohio in the next three days, bringing a soggy start to the week. The National Weather Service in Wilmington is forecasting up to a half-inch of rain Monday welcome news for farmers, but not so much for soccer clubs, cyclists and lawn mowers. The chance of rain is 90% according to the weather service. Wind gusts of more than 20 mph are expected after 2 p.m. Rain expected through Wednesday The soggy, breezy conditions, typical for April, will ease up after midnight with rain tapering off. The chance of rain Tuesday drops to 60% with sporadic thunderstorms bringing heavy rain but minimal overall rainfall totals of up to a tenth of an inch.

Thunderstorms, rain showers today, tomorrow Daniel Susco © Provided by Dayton Daily News Lightning struck the ground in Greene County on Monday, May 23 as a strong line of thunderstorms blew through the area. Today will start out cloudy and cool before rain and thunderstorms begin in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Both rain and storms will be likely through most of the afternoon, then continue after dark. Heavy rain is possible Wednesday night, and the NWS said that damaging hail could be possible. A cold front will drop into the northern Ohio Valley on Wednesday, then lay out west to east through the mid sections of Ohio and Indiana. A surface low pressure center will track eastward along it on Thursday.
