A little snow possible for north Alabama Sunday night

A few snowflakes will be possible from Sunday night into Monday morning for parts of north and north-central Alabama. Most will see only flurries, but a dusting will be possible north of the Tennessee River and in the higher elevations of northeast Alabama. This is the forecast for 6 a.m. Monday.

North Alabama will get another chance to see a few snowflakes tomorrow night.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville says snow flurries or snow showers will be possible Sunday night into Monday morning across north Alabama, with areas north of the Tennessee River possibly seeing a dusting.
Alabama gets more tornadoes than other areas in the country
There s no conclusive research on tornado hot spots just yet, but evidence is emerging.

The tornado in Fultondale Monday night is the third one to touch down in the same vicinity in 10 years.
You ve probably experienced many tornado watches and warnings if you ve lived in Alabama for some time. A meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Huntsville, Jessica Chace, said the weather in the southeast tends to develop many tornadoes.
“From weak to strong, to violent tornadoes, we see just as much, if not more than a lot of other areas of the country, she said.
