Photos: WFC Two landlords have been slapped with fines totalling £135,000 for failing to maintain and licence privately rented homes. The landlords were lampooned by a judge for failing to provide basic safety measures, such as fire alarms, and hygienic conditions. At a hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 1, Mohammed Bhatti, aka Mohammed Muqeem Amin, sole director of agents Property Ladder London Ltd, pleaded guilty to 12 charges in relation to breaches of management regulations at a number of properties on High Road, Leyton, as well as failing to licence one of the homes.

Stratford club appeals town hall licensing decision

An appeal lodged by Serene Entertainment Ltd, which is licence holder at Jhankaars in The Broadway, is due to be heard at Thames Magistrates Court on February 15. This month s court action follows the refusal by Newham Council s licensing sub-committee to vary the venue s existing premises licence.
