Deputies arrest two suspects on multiple charges

Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff's Office has announced two arrests stemming from the same incident. On Sunday, August 15th, 2021, at about 9:30 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the area of 152nd Avenue and Pleasant Grove Road for a suspicious white truck seen driving slowly in the area. At about 10:25 PM, deputies were advised the white truck was currently at 19124, 148th Ave. Deputies arrived at about 10:30 PM and located the truck in the Driveway. The owners of the property followed the truck as it drove from one property to the next, then shined lights at an outbuilding. The owner advised they did not know the subjects and they did not have permission to be on the property. Deputies made contact with the driver, who refused to provide her name. She was later identified as 49-year-old Holly Patricia Braun of Burlington. The Passenger was identified as 18-year-old Ryan Gonzales Jr. of Galesburg, Illinois. Burlington man arrested for domestic assault

Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington man on a domestic violence charge. On Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, at about 1:25 PM deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance that occurred in a vehicle in the 5900 block of Summer Street. Deputies met with the victim who said she had been hit in the face by her boyfriend. He was identified as 19-year-old Javeion Dajuan Johnson of Burlington. The victim had a visible facial injury and was bleeding at the time. Deputies located Johnson a short time later near the intersection of S. 8th St. and Angular. Johnson attempted to run away after deputies made contact, but was detained a short distance away. Johnson was arrested and charged with serious domestic abuse assault-causing injury, interference with official acts, and an arrest warrant for criminal mischief 4th degree. Johnson was taken to the Des Moines County Jail and held without bond.
