Bengaluru, Feb 1 : After spending an anxious week, the residents of Prestige Song of the South, an upscale apartment in Begur, breathed a sigh of relief on Monday after the forest officials captured a leopard which was prowling inside the residential complex for over a week.
A range forest officer from the K.R. Puram division (Bengaluru Urban) was put in charge of the operation of rescuing the leopard after the forest department officials saw CCTV footage which showed the big cat visiting the apartment complex from the nearby Bannerghatta forest.

Hyderabad, Jan 26 : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday directed the engineers working on construction of new building for the state Secretariat to speed up the work.
He visited the site and inspected the progress of construction works. KCR, as Rao is popularly known, went around and visited every nook and corner and interacted with the engineers on the site and representatives of working agency.
The CM instructed them to speed up the works and to maintain the highest quality standards in construction.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has extended support to housing societies and commercial establishments in getting agencies for managing their wastes. The civic body provided some names of the agencies that are managing waste at the government as well as private premises.
As per the Urban Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2016 of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Water Resources, New Delhi, buildings that generate more than 50 kgs waste daily have to process it within the premises.

Thanks to the Ministry of Environment’s ‘Green Good Deeds’ campaign, an initiative of spreading the message of environment protection, a big LED screen is being installed at the amphitheatre inside the zoo for regular screening of documentaries and short films on wildlife produced by the Forest Department, the Mysuru zoo and other conservationists.
