Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will on Thursday inaugurate and lay foundation stones for highway projects worth Rs 8,341 crore in Rajasthan, an official statement said.
These projects are for a total length of 1,127 kms. Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate and lay foundation stone for 18 highway projects in Rajasthan tomorrow, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said.

New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced that FASTag will be made mandatory for all vehicles in the country from January 1, 2021.
The minister said, it s useful for commuters as they will not need to stop at toll plazas for cash payments, saving time and fuel .
The FASTags were launched in 2016, and four banks together issued nearly a lakh of them. By 2017, their numbers went up to seven lakh. Over 34 lakh FASTags were issued in 2018.

NEW DELHI : After striving to turn the pandemic-induced “crisis into an opportunity” with ongoing construction of tunnel roads in tough terrains and critical infrastructure, the government will step on the gas in the new year for massive penetration of electric vehicles as well as expansion of road networks.

In the words of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the driving force behind roadways expansion and numerous infrastructure development projects, the government decided to turn the crisis due to the pandemic into an opportunity.
