Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said the state government is doing its best to break the chain of transmission amid unprecedented Covid surge, adding that the state government never tried to hide figures . We are doing our best as far providing crucial drugs such as Remdesivir and medical oxygen supply is concerned, he said at NDTV Solutions Summit today. The state, worst-hit by the pandemic, reported 67,123 fresh infections on Saturday, its highest daily spike so far. However, the state government has been very transparent (in its handling of the pandemic). We never tried to hide even a single case or death, he stressed.

India to manufacture containers in Bhavnagar, eyes Rs 1,000 cr investment: Mansukh Mandaviya

Synopsis India requires about 3.5 lakh containers every year. .There is no container production in India and we have to depend mainly on China which is a global producer. Now we want to develop Bhavnagar in Gujarat as a container hub and we have selected 10 places there for its production on a pilot basis, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

Eyeing indigenous production of containers amid a global surge in demand, the Centre is looking to develop Bhavnagar in Gujarat as a container hub and has set up pilot projects for its manufacturing, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.
RoPax ferries to be operational on 4 routes in Mumbai by December
Mumbai s public transportation system is set to get a major boost with water taxis on 12 routes by May and RoPax ferries on four routes to be operational by December 2021, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Wednesday.
The development follows launch of a roll-on roll-off (RoRo) cum passenger ferry service, also called RoPax , between Mumbai and Mandwa near Alibaug last year which saw one lakh passengers in 20 weeks besides transportation of 20,000 vehicles. After successful operation of Mandawa RoPax service that reduced the journey time between Mumbai and Mandawa from three hours to 45 minutes, we are going to operate RoPax service on four more routes by December 2021, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Mandaviya told PTI.
