The death toll climbed to 1,54,010, with 163 more fatalities. On Thursday, the country recorded 11,666 infections and 123 deaths. The number of recoveries has surged to 1,03,94,352, pushing the national recovery rate to 96.96 per cent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.44 per cent. The number of active coronavirus cases in the country also dropped to 1,71,686, constituting 1.60 per cent of the total infection count, the Health Ministry data showed. The number of active cases has now remained below 2 lakh for the 10th consecutive day.
