Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is hosting its online centenary celebration today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the AMU centenary celebration via video conferencing. The Prime Minister, during the virtual address, also released a postal stamp. This is the first time PM Modi has participated in a programme of the university.
Along with PM Modi, the Chancellor of the University Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ are also be present on the occasion.

Replying to a question on syllabus, he said that the board exams will have 33 per cent internal choice as well and 30 per cent of the syllabus has been reduced and other state boards are also expected to follow the same. He also said that there could be an alternative to practical exams owing to the pandemic.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Tuesday via video conferencing. At 11 AM tomorrow, 22nd December, will be speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Aligarh Muslim University, PM Modi had said in a tweet.

The government remains undecided on when it would conduct the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams for classes 10 and 12, but said the exams would be held offline, after February 2021 and the dates would be announced soon .
In an online interaction with teachers and other stakeholders on Tuesday, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal added that the exams - which are usually held in March-April - would not be postponed in view of the coronavirus pandemic, but the syllabus has been reduced. I received a lot of requests from students and teachers to postpone CBSE board exams for Class 10 and 12. Keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, we have decided that board exams will not be held in February. Dates would be announced soon, Mr Pokhriyal tweeted.
