Food-tech startup in Union County is hiring

A virtual job hiring event for Wonder, a food-tech startup based in Cranford, is scheduled for next week.
The event will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4, and the positions available include customer experience associates, culinary and central kitchen operations and warehouse and central operations, according to the Union County Board of Commissioners.
The positions pay between $15 and $18 per hour and candidates can apply by visiting www.wonderculinary.com/. Upon submitting an application, a Zoom link for the event will be sent to applicants.
The company specializes in the in-home dining experience, according to its website.
Union County s $519 million budget has no tax increase

ELIZABETH – There will be no increase in Union County’s tax rate for the second consecutive year.
The Union County Board of Commissioners passed a $519.8 million budget last week that they said will maintain all essential services and “continues the county’s trend of fiscally responsible budgets, and maintains the county’s bond rating which is the highest attainable.”
Commissioner Chairman Alexander Mirabella said that despite the pandemic, the county s fiscal outlook remains strong. We continue to offer our high-quality governmental services, and our commitment to assisting our constituents, he said.

The 2021 budget was passed at tonight s meeting and will maintain all essential services.
