The Indian Railways on Saturday informed that no date has been fixed for resumption of all passenger trains operations, however, new train services will be added gradually. No date fixed for resumption of all passenger trains operations. Railways have been increasing the number of train services in a graded manner. Already more than 65 per cent of trains are running. More than 250 plus were added in January, more will be added gradually, Indian Railways said.
Meanwhile, in another development, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in a written reply to Parliament informed that Indian Railways has upgraded the speed of 488 trains across its various zones.

New Delhi [India], February 12 (ANI): Union Railways MinisterPiyush Goyal on Friday said that there has not been a single passenger death due to train accidents in nearly 22 months.
Speaking about the condition of the railway bridges in Rajya Sabha, Goyal said, Over the last 6 years, we have focused more and more amounts on safety. The last passenger death due to a railway accident happened on March 22, 2019. For the nearly 22 months, we have not had a single passenger death due to train accidents.
The minister said that the government has have focused its attention on bridge repairs and maintenance.
Chennai: Students Permitted To Travel In Suburban Trains From February 15
Students have been permitted to travel in Chennai suburban trains from February 15, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said today. The Southern Railway has also issued guidelines in this regard.

Students have been permitted to travel in Chennai suburban trains from February 15, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said today. The Southern Railway has also issued guidelines in this regard.
“Students will now be able to conveniently travel along with the Chennai Suburban Rail Network from 15th February, 2021. Students are requested to adhere to all standard Covid-19 safety protocols,” Mr Goyal tweeted.
