OSHA s Infectious Disease Standard may be Revived, New Podcast on Health Care Safety, Summer Injury Trends and More

OSHA s infectious disease standard may be revived by the Biden administration, which was previously stalled during the Obama era. If the effort is successful, employers would be required to protect workers from tuberculosis, severe acute viral respiratory infections and other airborne infectious diseases. A proposal for the rule is expected in fiscal year 2022. The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) The ASSP Healthcare Practice Specialty launched a new podcast that aims to educate health care professionals about workplace safety topics pertinent to their industry. The Healthbeat podcast is intended to offer a more flexible and innovative option for those interested in learning about health care safety. Episodes feature subject matter experts and topics range from ergonomics to fire hazards.
