NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A second body was pulled out of the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, according to David Lucas with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
Lucas said the body of a man was recovered around 5 p.m. Monday. He said it’s presumed to be the second boater that disappeared Sunday night. He said the coroner’s office will be working to confirm the identity.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Condolences are pouring in after a veteran Horry County police officer lost his life in the line of duty.
LCpl. Melton “Fox” Gore, 57, was killed Tuesday night while he was performing a task outside of his truck near the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 31. The chief of police said that the preliminary investigation shows that Gore was trying to get some debris out of the road when he was hit.
