Saskatoon police say they’ve responded to 10 suspected drug overdoses including five deaths all in the span of six days.
In a media release, police said officers responded to the overdoses between May 25 and May 30, and administered Narcan, which counters the effects of opioids, 13 times between January and April in 2021. Initial information at some scenes indicate the presence of fentanyl, police said.

Supt. Patrick Nogier, in a provided statement, said police are concerned about this recent upward trend, especially the fatalities.
The Moose Jaw Police Service is warning the community about the possibility of “a tainted or compromised drug" after officers responded to three overdoses in 12 hours.
