Kara Enid Vaughn was last seen at her home in Natchitoches, LA, on November 3, 1993.
She left driving a white 1978 Honda with California license plates and was never been heard from again.
The Charley Project, a website that lists persons who have been missing more than a year, report that on multiple occasions prior to her disappearance, Vaughn threatened to drive her car into the Cain River so her body would never be found. Authorities searched a thirty-mile section of the river 2007, but didn t find Vaughn s vehicle or her body.
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff s Office was provided information on the location of a vehicle in Cain River. Over several days, the Sheriff s Office Marine Division assisted in the location of the vehicle and the recovery of human remains believed to be Kara Vaughn.
A Sabine Parish man suffered non-life threatening injuries in a single-vehicle roll-over crash on US-71 in Natchitoches Parish early Sunday morning.
At about 4:00am, Sunday, March 114, 2021, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Districts #3 and #9, as well as Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to reports of a single-vehicle roll-over crash with entrapment on US-71 just north of the Natchitoches-Winn Parish line.
Upon arrival, deputies found one person suffering from non-life threatening injuries trapped in the wreckage.

Deputies say the 49-year-old Sabine Parish man operating a 2005 GMC pickup truck was transported from the scene by EMS to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Around 10:45 a.m Sunday, February 21, 2021, Natchitoches Fire District #6 responded to a report of a trailer fire located in the 1900 block of Highway 6.
Firefighters requested the SFMâs assistance with the investigation following the discovery of a body that appeared to have been dead prior to the fire. The body of a pet dog was also located inside of the residence.
At the time, the victim was believed to be a 49-year-old transient woman from Mississippi who had been intermittently staying at the trailer with Ronald Griffith, 58, the homeowner, for the past two years.
After an assessment of the fire scene, deputies determined the fire originated in the trailerâs kitchen area. While the official cause is still undetermined, deputies have not ruled out the possibility of an electrical malfunction due to unattended space heaters being a contributing factor.
